The charts you can access from this page compare the hours to White Corrosion and the hours to Red Corrosion for the various finishes offered by Modern Plating. The finishes are divided into two groups: trivalent finishes and hexavalent finishes. Trivalent finishes are replacing hexavalent finishes in many applications due to the carcinogenic properties of hexavalent chrome. Modern Plating worked with the world's leading chemical manufacturers in the development of its line of trivalent chromates and sealers to insure the availability of finishes that meet the needs of a variety of industries both today and in the future. All salt spray testing was done in accordance with ASTM-B-117 and the performance indicated is that which is required by the automotive specification for each finish.
